The Context Gallery has established a reputation as one of the most vital spaces for the presentation and promotion of contemporary art in the North of Ireland. Since its conception in 1993, the Gallery has promoted and encouraged emerging Northern Ireland artists and presented their work alongside emerging and established international arts such as the Turner Prize nominees Phil Collins and Simon Patterson. The Gallery has presented the work of a number of local artists who have gone on to represent their country in biennials and festivals around the world and provides an important visual arts resource to this significantly historical part of the world.
