The Derry Visitor and Convention Bureau Ambassador Initiative has been innovative and visionary in ensuring tourists to the historic walled city of Derry - one of the jewels in crown of Ireland's fabulous historic visitor attractions - are met with a warm and friendly welcome during the busy summer season.
The Walled City Ambassadors initiative was launched in 2007 as part of the Northern Ireland Tourist Board's Business and Cultural Animation Programme. By 2009, the initiative had developed further and the concept of mobile Tourist Information Staff bringing the information to our visitors emerged .Recruitment for Summer 2011 Tourist Information Ambassadors will appear in our recruitment section soon, so if you think you have what it takes, are enthusiastic, have pride in your city and are interested in working with the Visitor Servicing Department of DVCB to provide a friendly welcome to our visitors - watch this space!(Full training provided)
